This was some way to end the season. It was one of those games where being defeated actually felt like a victory for all the hard work and determination and never giving up against a strong Lochar team that played lots of good football.

Lochar took the lead in the first 10 minutes from a free kick which was difficult to defend against given the wet surface. The boys refused to lay down to this and within a couple of minutes we were back on level terms with Craig scoring a fine effort from the edge of the box. We defended resolutely against the older Lochar boys, but were happy to play on the counter attack and made one ot two decent chances ourselves. It was still 1 - 1 with 5 minutes left to half time, but we then let our guards down and found ourselves 3 - 1 behind at half time.

The second half saw us having to sustain constant pressure from Lochar, but with some great defending, a little bit of luck and some fine goalkeeping the score was still 3 - 1 midway through the half. We got back into the game and made it 3 - 2 with 15 minutes to play when Fraser pounced on a loose ball from a Craig free kick. Lochar continued to pressure us trying to reestablish their two goal lead, but with 10 minutes left it was time for us to go for it and we took the game to Lochar making some really good chances and for a few minutes it was the home side who were relying on their defence. It wasn-t to be our day in the end and Lochar progress to the semi final of the cup.

It was an incredibly pleasing performance from our boys on the day and there were several complimentary comments from the Lochar coaches and players at the end of the game for a great team of boys who definitely punched above their weight on the day and with a bit of style for good measure.
