Heston Rovers FC is a Dumfries based club founded in 1978 to provide football for boys in the local community.
The club has continued to grow in recent years and now has over 350 members - with an over 40s section too - and has around 50 adult volunteers who keep the wheels turning!!
Heston Rovers was the first Dumfries based club to be awarded the Scottish FA's Quality Mark award - the Chairman is working towards 'Community Club' QM status.
The club does not regard itself as a football 'academy' or indeed a 'centre of excellence' - we will leave that to the professional clubs! We are however regarded by the Scottish FA as providing a 'Soccer School' service in a controlled environment.
The main thing is we do try give kids of all abilities a chance to start out in football. We therefore urge parents, friends and fans to behave properly at matches and to let the coaches coach the kids - this is not a role for touchline parents at our club.
HRFC club is managed by volunteers and a hard working committee who meet on a monthly basis at the clubhouse.
Our AGM is held in Dumfries in May each year and our Club Constitution document can be found on this website under club documents. The minimum age for joining the club was recently reviewed by the management committee and we will now accept applications from children who have started primary school. Please enquire via our website or visit the clubhouse in person on a saturday morning between 10am and 11.30am.
Please drive safely and SLOWLY when entering Maryfield via Westfield Road (children around) and do not park in restricted areas.
