INFORMATION LETTER FOR NEW MEMBERS and PARENTS
Welcome to Heston Rovers Youth Football Club!
Heston Rovers was formed in 1978 in and is a member of the Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) and also the local association - Dumfries and Galloway Youth Football
Development Association (DGYFDA) .We are therefore bound by the rules and regulations stipulated within the rules and constitutions of these Associations and our own Club Constitution.
The Club coaches are all unpaid volunteers - most have obtained various levels of SFA coaching certificates to ensure that SFA coaching guidelines are being met. The Club
also has trained first-aid personnel who are able to administer basic first-aid in the event of a minor injury. Our coaches and committee are also required to process a Disclosure Scotland certificate application to allow the Club to meet
its Child Protection guidelines as per our Club Constitution.
The club coaching and training sessions are held every Saturday morning (unless the weather is REALLY bad) at Maryfield between 1000hrs and 1130hrs all year round with only
a 2 week break at Christmas time! Children aged between 5 -16 years are welcome irrespective of colour, creed, religion, sex or footballing ability or experience. The emphasis is on fun and development in the younger age groups (5 - 12). We
only play competitive football in the older age groups (13+).
MEMBERSHIP DETAILS:
Club membership is only £8 per calendar month (£10 for a family of 2 / £12 for a family of 3 or more) – this is payable on the FIRST Saturday on each calendar month. The
first week is FREE to ensure that your child will enjoy our set up, embrace team-mates, surroundings and the Club discipline standards required.
All members are expected to purchase an official club sweatshirt or training top and bag for use when representing the club at games/festivals/tournaments etc. Players MUST
wear shin pads to training and games and bring a water based drink. Every player needs to purchase official club shorts and socks (we only supply tops now). These items are sold on a not-for- profit basis and can be viewed on our official
Club website ‘shop’ page (www.hestonrovers.co.uk). See Trish or Hugh to place an order.
Members are expected to arrive in good time for training and for games and to be properly prepared in terms of kit,a drink and monthly subs. We also have a code of practice
for behaviour standards mainly to ensure that everyone enjoys their time at the Club. Unfortunately being a Club member does NOT guarantee your child a regular game of football in team selections – this has to be achieved through good attendance, good time-keeping, paid membership fees, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop footballing skills.
We hold an annual Trophy Presentation evening in June each year where every current member receives a trophy in recognition of their work throughout the year.
For those parents who wish to know more about the Club or wish to participate at either committee or coaching levels please speak to any of the Excecutive committee listed

If you require more information or have a suggestion, complaint or issue please do not hesitate to ask your child’s coach on a Saturday morning or you can telephone or
