Heston Rovers 13's is a team consisting of boys all of whom were born in 1997. This is their second year playing at eleven a side, having stepped up from the seven a side under 11 development league in the summer of 2008.
Most of the boys have played together for several years at Heston and have enjoyed some great moments in their time, travelling to tournaments in Lenzie for the past two years and participating in all of the local tournaments also. The boys come from various schools around Dumfries, it is good to see them getting on so well as a team on and off the park.
Of course there is always a need to freshen things up a bit so there is always room for new boys (and girls) and it is pleasing to see them fit in with those boys who have been here for a while.
The team coaches for this age group are Derek Cochrane, David Paterson and Colin Coulter. Derek is in his fifth season as coach, David is in his second season and Colin is in his second season, having previously coached with Greystone Rovers. All have passed SFA Youth Coaching Courses for youths.
